Honey provides numerous benefits for the complexion, including antibiotics that help control acne-causing bacteria, natural humectants that keep the skin smooth and moist, and vitamin B to soothe dry, irritated skin. When combined with sugar and a small amount of oil, honey makes an effective, relatively inexpensive facial scrub. Although a honey and sugar facial scrub is safe to use every day, limit scrubs to two or three times per week if your skin is dry or sensitive. Step 1 Combine equal parts honey and white sugar in a small bowl. For a single scrub, 1 tablespoon of each is sufficient. Step 2 Stir in about a teaspoon of olive oil for a smooth consistency.
